  i've been registered at jwn for 1 year!

  i've made so much progress since i first started coming here.

  i was an inactive jw who was just trying to move on from what i considered a benign but demanding religion.

  Funniest "guilty" thought

  in my jw daze, they were always warning that satan transformed himself into an angel of light, and he knows what to tempt you with, blah blah.

  an elder that studied with my ex told him that satan can't read our minds, so if we don't act on certain impulses, he won't know what to tempt us with.

  in other words, he explained, if you see a porn mag and pick it up, then satan will work with that.

  Maybe satan had used most of his budget up for that year New Chapter and all he could afford to tempt you with was an extra chocolate chip cookie.

  yesterday i went to barnes and noble and bought something.

  today i get an email from barnes and noble asking me to take a survey about my experience.

  i was to receive a coupon for completing it.

  Band on the Run. I don't prefer Coke over Pepsi but if I have a diet soft drink I don't like diet Coke so I drink diet Pepsi. Maybe that explains why I thought Ronald Reagan's trickle down theory would work back in the 80's.

  They tell me ahead of tiome how long the survey might take so I can decide

  That's good because some of the one I have started don't. They just seem to go on and on so after a while I just say forget it and quit.

  to some degree, i think i understand where she's coming from.

  just speaking from my own experiences since stepping into the world of anonymous apostacy, i went through a few different phases of personal outlooks.

  No because I would have had to go through life lying and pretending that I still believed that nonsense. And the way the Watchtower is set up in order to do that convincingly I would have had to spend a certain amount of my time trying to deceive others that it was the truth. There is nothing reasonable about spending your life trying to trick people into joining a cult. That would just be insane, maybe even evil. Life is just too short to waste it in that fashion.
